TV TIPS & MORE (FRIDAY)

With a whopping 11 races scheduled for ITV this Friday we decided to go even further and preview all 22 races from Newcastle, Lingfield and Chelmsford.

13:15 NEWCASTLE

Perhaps a tad boring, but based on form, it's hard to look anywhere but Royal Playwright. He disappointed in the Futurity Trophy, but prior to that placed in two group contests. If he's progressed over the winter, he should have too much for his five opponents.

Bowmark and Glittering Legend can finish closest to the selection.

ROYAL PLAYWRIGHT (WIN)

13:50 NEWCASTLE

Based on the betting, So Darn Hot should be hard to beat, but aside from the clear market principle, the race looks wide open, and searching for an each-way alternative looks the better option.

With a course and distance win to his name and hailing from a yard in form, Berkshire Whisper gets the nod, as does Don Pacifico, who can reverse the form with Hello Zaman.

BERKSHIRE WHISPER (E/W)

DON PACIFICO (E/W)

14:25 NEWCASTLE

It's difficult to be overly confident about any of the runners in this seven-furlong contest, so a tentative selection goes to Aramis Grey. He's never won here at the North East venue, but he's placed over the course and distance prior. On a workable mark and with Rossa Ryan in the saddle, a chance is taken on the eight-year-old.

Top-weight Cloud Cover and David O'Meara's Viennoise should also be considered.

ARAMIS GREY (E/W)

15:00 NEWCASTLE

Having placed in this race last year, both Kingdom Come and Fantastic Fox are taken to go close once again. This year's renewal looks a tougher test, but with the pair currently (at the time of writing) double-figure odds, their prices are too generous to ignore.

Storm Star looks to have a strong claim for punters looking for the most likely victor.

KINGDOM COME (E/W)

FANTASTIC FOX (E/W)

15:35 NEWCASTLE

Diligent Harry has competed with great credit at the highest of levels but now back in handicap company his weight might be too much of an obstacle to overcome, one to note but likely to find a few too good.

With nothing drastically jumping off the page a small each-way play on Coachello is where we'll be putting our money. The former Gordon Elliott trained runner has done well in competitive handicaps before and although he might not be the force he once was could do far better than many of the bookmakers will have you believe.

Fivethousandtoone is another that deserves a mention.

COACHELLO (E/W)

16:07 NEWCASTLE

Despite being aged six-years-old Glen Buck is very lightly raced and has far less miles on the clock than his rivals. With four wins from his five career starts he's still got room to progress and looks the obvious choice for punters.

Old Harrovian seems a very credible threat and it'd come as no surprise if he were to overturn Roger Varian's runner.

The aforementioned duo look the standout options but they're hard to split. With this in mind a chance is taken on Salamanca to reverse the course and distance form with Penzance and potentially pick up some place money.

SALAMANCA (E/W)

16:42 NEWCASTLE

Roaring Legend has looked a completely new animal since switching to the yard of Hugo Palmer and aims to make it four flat victories in a row but an 8lb rise in weight makes this a very hard ask.

Wonder Legend is also having to deal with a larger weight after winning last time and as such it looks as though Plage De Havre can reverse that form. Oisin Murphy is booked for the ride and with more favourable weights is taken to get back to winning ways.

PLAGE DE HAVRE (E/W)

13:30 LINGFIELD

Despite an additional 4lbs to carry this time around, last time out winner Shahbaz could still go close. A step up in trip should be of benefit to the five-year-old and with promising young jockey Joe Leavy booked for the ride he's got a great chance of claiming back to back victories.

SHAHBAZ (E/W)

14:05 LINGFIELD

Both Mr Baloo and Arcadian Nights are aiming to take their fourth win in a row and you'd be foolish to feel it's out of the realms of possibility for either. Of the two, I'd be more inclined to suggest Arcadian Nights is the most likely; however, at much bigger odds, Hitched could produce a shock.

The former course and distance winner has never finished outside of the top two when tackling this track and trip. He's weighted to go well and has a handy draw in stall three.

HITCHED (E/W)

14:40 LINGFIELD

A drop back to Class 3 level could be the answer to Dragon Icon finally making his long-awaited return to the Winners Enclosure. His only victory came here at Lingfield, and as he's slowly dropped down the weights, he seems set for a bold showing.

Bavo Zulu can outrun his current market odds.

DRAGON ICON (E/W)

15:15 LINGFIELD

Silky Wilkie has filled the runners up spot on all four of his last visits to Lingfield and he's set to go just as close once more. Karl Burke's runner has competed in some serious handicaps in his time and this doesn't look as competitive as races he's tackled previously. Capable of making the frame again.

Amazonian Dream and Diamondonthehill also have credible each-way chances.

SILKY WILKIE (E/W)

15:50 LINGFIELD

Although never tasting victory in five previous efforts on the all-weather Get Jiggy With It's best performance came when second over this course and distance. He's not tackled the track and trip since then and now has a massive 16lbs less weight to carry. With Jack Callan taking an additional 7lbs off his back he's taken to produce a better effort this time around.

The consistent Handle With Care is another worth a closer look as is the likely short priced favourite Party Bear who's hoping to continue his winning streak.

GET JIGGY WITH IT (E/W)

16:20 LINGIFELD

Bottom-weight Time Test deserves a crack at this level after winning last time out but looks likely to find a couple too good.

Fellow course victor Road To Wembley drops back to this level and returns to his last winning mark. With things pointing in his favour he should be there or thereabouts.

ROAD TO WEMBLEY (E/W)

16:50 LINGFIELD

Trainer Charles Hills has hit a rich vein of form after bagging a winner at Newmarket earlier in the week. He's aiming to add to his yards tally in the form of Vocal Legend. A convincing winner at Southwell back in February, this is a tougher test, but he can win again now, making his handicap debut.

VOCAL LEGEND (WIN)

13:40 CHELMSFORD

It's interesting to see jockey Ryan Moore climb aboard the Richard Hughes trained Nogo's Dream. The five-year-old is yet to win since claiming their maiden success but a couple of placed efforts has shown he's still got plenty of ability. A return to five furlongs and from a low draw should be close.

Honour Your Dreams and Angle Land look best of the rest.

NOGO'S DREAM (E/W)

14:15 CHELSMFORD

Critical Acclaim has gone close in his last two starts and aims to go one better this time around. With the eye-catching booking of jockey William Buick potentially the telling factor to see him take his first win.

Christmas Gift looks a strong contender for the Andrew Balding yard, especially with the weight allowance she receives.

CHRISTMAS GIFT (WIN)

14:50 CHELMSFORD

A drop in grade could be the telling factor but his mark might be a little too high, one for any shortlist.

Fellow course and distance winners Sir Maxi and Split Elevens shouldn't be far away but it's another C & D victor that gets the vote.

Capuchinero should appreciate a return to a course where he has a solid record and off a low mark could be set to strike.

Forever Proud can go close, especially with James Doyle doing the steering.

CAPUCHINERO (E/W)

15:25 CHELMSFORD

A tough race to call with a case to be made for at least half of the field.

The two that stand out most are the Stuart Williams trained Enpassant, who produced a credible third-placed effort when last seen at Chelmsford, and returns to the course with less weight to carry this time around.

The other to catch the eye is five-year-old Once Adaay, who, despite the wide draw, looks set to go close.

The better draw and more experienced jockey is enough to sway me slightly towards Enpassant.

ENPASSANT (E/W)

16:00 CHELMSFORD

Perhaps somewhat harsh on the other 13 runners but this looks to be a three runner races.

A trio of handicap debutants seem to tick the right boxes in the form of Fred Winter third Liam Swagger, last time out victor Steel Tiger and Ed Dunlop's Don Simon.

With the benefit of a recent run likely to boost their chances Liam Swagger and Don Simon should both make the frame.

LIAM SWAGGER (E/W)

DON SIMON (E/W)

16:30 CHELMSFORD

It's hard to look past the unbeaten Sky Majesty who's two-year-old form looks strong. Likely to go off the odds on favourite but will be hard to beat the Haggas runner.

Andesite and Jouncy look the most obvious to finish closest to the selection.

SKY MAJESTY (WIN)

17:00 CHELSMFORD

Ryan Moore, climbing aboard a bottom-weight who's a former course winner and last time out victor, is always dangerous, and as such Star Pupil demands the utmost respect. A runner that cannot be ignored and is perhaps a safer alternative than the selection.

A chance is taken with City Of York to go well. He'll have to overcome a 179 day absence, but he's produced some solid performances on the all-weather and now below his last winning mark, could spring a surprise.

Savvy Exchange is another to note after his gelding operation over the winter.

CITY OF YORK (E/W)

17:30 CHELMSFORD

The former of Caspian King's fourth when last seen looks pretty strong with the winner holding an entry in the Irish Derby and the fourth placed Almeric winning the Fielden Stakes earlier in the week. In what looks an open but far from star studded affair David Menuisier's charge could open his account on handicap debut.

Dalmally is an obvious threat.

CASPIAN KING (E/W)
