TODAYS TIPS (FRIDAY)

Rory Paddock focuses on Friday's action as he aims to pinpoint a few runners worth backing to end the working week on a high.

15:17 PERTH

With the UK trainers championship going down to the wire it's safe to say we all have to pay very close attention to any runner that's accompanied by the surname Skelton or Mullins in the trainers column. As such the Skelton charge of Coco Madmoiselle demands plenty of respect in this three-mile chase. She was travelling well when unseating her rider at Cheltenham in what was a better race last time. Thought good enough to enter listed company but was withdrawn from a race here at Perth because the ground was too soft. If the ground continues to dry as expected she's more than capable at this level.

Of her rivals Annsam has been knocking on the door and could throw down a challenge.

COCO MADMOISELLE (WIN)

16:10 SANDOWN

When jockey Ryan Moore and trainer Andrew Balding have teamed up over the past five years they've claimed a near 20% winning strike rate and they could add to their tally here with Music Piece. The three-year-old daughter of Camelot had an eye-catching debut season which culminated in a victory at Haydock. If she's trained on over the winter and can handle the better ground she looks the only threat to Godolphin's Winter's Song.

Winter's Song was a recent winner when making her debut at Yarmouth last month. She'll have a fitness edge over her rivals but it's tough to gauge how strong the form of that effort was and she may have to play second fiddle to the selection.

Without meaning to be unkind to the other trio of runners but this race looks to be a two horse contest with Star Of Light best of the rest.

MUSIC PIECE (WIN)

17:00 PERTH

It's tough to be overly confident about any selection in a race of this nature but there's a sneaky suspicion that Joeybottles might outrun his predicted odds. Making his debut for the training partnership of Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero the four-year-old by Harzand haild from a yard who have a 26% strike rate with their NHF horses. Of course rivals with previous runs such as Wilstar and Sanilam have obvious chances but we'll take a punt on the debutant to go well.

JOEYBOTTLES (E/W)

17:05 CHEPSTOW

Trainer Christian Williams often does well around this time of the season and it seems to be the case this year as the yard is currently operating at a 33% strike rate over the past fortnight. Williams is set to saddle the consistent Fortunefavorsdbold who's gone close in a handful of races, at the level, recently. Will need to show a bit more improvement but could have had this race in mind as a seasonal target and cannot be ignored.

Obvious dangers come in the form of bottom-weight Mythe Bridge and former course and distance winner Gats And Co

FORTUNEFAVORSDBOLD (E/W)

17:40 LIMERICK

Despite not competing in a flat contest for close to a year Out For A Stroll still makes plenty of appeal. A solid season over hurdles saw him ran with credit in some maidens before finally claiming victory at Limerick before a solid second at Punchestown. He disappointed at Downpatrick but a return to this sphere and with the softer conditions also likely to play to his strengths he's got a clear chance in what looks an open contest.

Top-weight Fascinating Shadow did well to finish fourth when last seen and Dynamite Defence also has a solid each-way claim.

OUT FOR A STROLL (E/W)

17:55 KILBEGGAN

The fourth race on the card looks ultra-competitive with sixteen runners set to go to post and three reserves waiting in the wings to ensure we have a full compliment of runners at the start line.

Although his yet to claim a hurdles victory in thirteen previous attempts Mahler Appeal ticks plenty of boxes. He's gone close many times before and will enjoy a return to hurdling and this extended three mile trip. Off a fair enough mark in what looks a weak, yet open, race he's capable of finishing in the money once again.

Last time out winner Stumblin In is looking to make it two victories on the bounce, as is Jonny Cakes and both could realistically do so.

Another worth noting is former course victor Joe's Turn and at a price, if she gets into the race, Captain Kate

MAHLER APPEAL (E/W)

18:17 FONTWELL

As one of two former course and distance winners in the lineup we already know that Rebel Intentions will relish these conditions. A return to hurdling seems a positive step by connections as the larger obstacles haven't suited. One for punters on the hunt for an outsider with a credible chance.

Recent winners Marlacoo and Sunshine Diamond should make any shortlist as should Shengai Enki.
