There was a lot to like about Play It Again’s debut in France in December and with that experience under her belt she looks the one to beat here with the track expected to suit.  Irisante hinted at ability when trained in France but is yet to spark for DJ Jeffreys so the bigger danger could be Nini Star who brings plenty of flat experience to the table and is an interesting hurdles debutant for David Pipe.

Latenightrumble was a course and distance winner in December and although couldn’t follow up from a 6lbs higher mark three weeks later that came over a slightly shorter trip and he was up against a thriving rival in Superbolt. Montregard won over today’s trip on penultimate run and followed up with a solid third in a race where the winner, second and fourth all won next time out so there should be more to come from Tom Lacey’s runner, however today preference is for Champagnesuperover who was still travelling well when unseating his rider at Catterick when last seen and is taken to gain compensation today.
