This does look a match on paper between progressive recent winners We Got Your Back and River Run Free. The stamina-sapping straight at Leicester in this ground will take some getting and be a different test for We Got Your Back after a couple of two-mile wins. Conversely River Run Free has some strong point form in Ireland over further and a mark of 81 looks very generous now after a win on chase debut on heavy at Lingfield.

It seems churlish to oppose likely warm favourite Demoiselle Kap off the same mark as her Sedgefield win, 9lb lower than her revised hurdle mark, but that was a moderate race and this is her UK chase debut.

Flash Du Pistolet is in a lot of notebooks as a future winner and should go well but another strong each-way alternative is three-time course and distance winner Six One Nine who ran well for a very long way over 2m 4f last time despite being taken on for the lead.
