Alan Morris returns with his weekly horses to follow as he updates the Racing Daily Hotlist. FIRST INSTINCT (W HAGGAS)

First Instinct ran a promising race on debut as a 3yo against older horses in the 5f Listed Sprint, staying on well and she can improve again returned to 6f, the distance of her two impressive wins at 2. She took a keen hold and led in a Group 3 over 7f at 2 but can stay that distance in time. Given a good draw she can go well if taking up the 6f Listed race at Chelmsford on May 1st but could do well in a Sprint Handicap or Listed races here or abroad on her way back to Group races.

MISS SHOW OFF (C COX)

The lightly-raced 4yo filly Miss Show Off has shown enough in two runs at Bath over 5f to suggest she can win again soon over 5 or 6f and reward the decision to stay in training. She was squeezed out at the start ar Bath (20/04/2025) and crowded out further on, running on well under hands and heels once her chance had gone. Her 3yo full sister Miss Show Down is a 5f Bath winner and has a very similar promising profile.
