Liam Hall runs his eye over the best maidens running this weekend and pinpoints a few that could claim their first career victories. SATURDAY
16:23 WARWICK
Madame La Papillon won on debut when sent off unsupported in the market, showed a pleasing attitude to win but with an RPR rating of 90 she'd have to improve on that performance to defy a penalty. Miss Denver has a really smart pedigree for a team that know how to get one ready first time out. Roses all the way has finished second all three starts and should be capable of going very close again but her attitude is starting to look questionable.
MISS DENVER (E/W)
16:45 NEWBURY
A very competitive-looking listed bumper. Likely favourite Act Of Innocence was third on debut and has since joined Paul Nicholls. He was a huge price that day so he was relatively unfancied by connections and the winner has since been beaten three times over hurdles which suggests he'll have had to of improved plenty for joining this new yard which isn't impossible. Sober Glory has won an Irish point on debut and then managed to win both bumpers nicely and he shouldn't be far away. Precious Metal showed a very nice attitude to win at Cheltenham last time and I believe he's got the most scope for improvement. Colin Hobbs is out of a very smart mare who won two grade twos over hurdles. Already an English maiden point winner, he could be an each-way angle at a huge price.
PRECIOUS METAL (WIN)
COLIN HOBBS (E/W)
SUNDAY
16:43 EXETER
Only Way Is Up finished third on debut in an Irish point before subsequently being bought by the Skeltons, looked a true stayer so expect to see him staying on late. Korkoran won an Irish point and has joined an in form yard. Been off the track a long time and that tempers enthusiasm but may still be too good for the rest if he's fit enough.
KORKORAN (WIN)
