Former jockey turned pundit Liam Hall does his weekly analysis of any maiden runners set to race this weekend. Here's his thoughts on runners with the best chances of shaking off their maiden tag.
15:50 WETHERBY
He's A Ripper was sent off odds on for a Larkhill point bumper but was ultimately outpaced. Must've shown plenty at home but being out of a staying dam and related to 2mile 6f winning hurdler he may lack the required speed to win a bumper. Little Legend dam was a bumper winner and made a pleasing rules debut to finish third at Ascot, likely improver. Ned Hill who cost €170,000 as a 3yr old, plenty of winners in the family and making a Racecourse debut for a top bumper yard. Shouldn't be far away if he knows his job.
NED HILL (WIN)
16:12 SANDOWN
Small field bumper but ultra competitive. Tentitive vote goes for Hurricane Pat, he was a runner up in both Irish points before making a successful winning rules debut over course and distance impressively. Silver Hill showed plenty of greeness on debut at Market Rasen and still overcame that to win, will improve plenty for that and could be a smart horse going forward. A Pai De Nom was runner up on debut, the winner has since defied a penalty to win both bumpers and this Skelton recruit was a long way clear of the third.
HURRICANE PAT (WIN)
16:22 WETHERBY
Garrantemple was 2nd of four in an Irish point, makes his rules debut with improvement needed on that performance. Mossy Fen Road is a half brother to a high class bumper winner and makes his rules debut after winning an Irish point. Orderoftheday cost £125,000 after winning an Irish point, finished second on rules debut behind Sandown runner Silver Hill.
